She’Hing: Title for an Instructor Trainee
Shifu: Title for a Black Belt Instructor
Shun Shifu: Title for the Schools Master & Head Master
Shi Han: Title for 5th, 6th & 7th degree black belts (Master Ranks)
Da Shifu: Title for 8th degree black best belt- Grand Master
Belts are tied in a square knot.
Students wear their knots on their hip.
Men–left & Women–right hip.
Students wear the knot on the side, wearing it in front would be considered a formal
challenge to the Instructor.” (Not advisable)
Students Salute the Instructors & Instructors return their salutes.
Instructors & Students remove their shoes in the lobby.
Instructors & Students bow on entering & exiting the training areas. This is respect for our training areas.
When a high ranking black belt enters the training areas, all who are present should show respect by doing the formal bow which is done and the beginning and end of each class.
Students entering training late are still expected to do a complete formal bow to show respect and to show they are there to learn.
